Can I be one of the few that can’t get past the looks of the Tesla Model-X ? From what I understand from the design, the designers took the Model S, stretched it in every direction and called it a day. The preview sketch above looks cool with that slanted roof that breaks up the roundness of the actual prototype.
This concept has been around for a for a few years now and unfortunately it looks like this still. At this point, I would use this as an opportunity to unveil a new or updated design. Nothing personal Tesla, I love what you’re doing and might be an adopter of a Used Model 3, but thing just looks weird.

I find it very bland. But then again, are you buying a Tesla for the styling?

I love the styling of the S. So damn sexy.

It almost looks like they are going after the Euro market with a basic, generic, city car type vibe.

No, you would buy a Fisker Karma for the styl... oh.

The Model S looks good as a sedan. I really like 5-door sedans.
Not sure it looks as good as a CUV... and as much as I like 5-door sedans, I am not sure I get the point of the same profile on CUVs...
3-door fastback coupe on all-road suspension, YES.
5-door fastback sedan with CUV ride height... why not just have an even longer roofline?
This is a better looking CUV form... and even it has a roofline that is perhaps a bit too aggressively low at the back.
If it is going to have 5-doors, it might as well have some cargo volume behind the passenger seats, at least in CUV form.

It’s actually been growing on me. I originally hated it.

stretched it in every direction
That’s how a lot of car companies do it... Audi, BMW, Porsche, Mercedes, Ford, Cadillac, Mini, Jaguar...

Yea structurally... Not visually !

Really? I’d say it is way more visually than structurally. I’m pretty sure the A3, 4, 6, 8; Q3, 5, 7; ATS, CTS, CT6; 1, 3, 5, 7 series; CLA, CLS; Macan, Cayman; Fiesta, Focus, Fusion; are all structurally very different platforms, not just one in different dimensions.

They need to re-style it ans the S. I mean the S’s design, at this point, getting old. It’s was never wild to look at. They should not release a new car with a design that is already outdated and tired. Especially when the S’s best design feature is that it looks low, and long. Both of which are completely lost on the X. Instead it looks like... Honestly I kinda think it looks like a panda bear just needs a few more black spots besides the one on the front.
Also if the production X loses the gull wing doors it’s a total failure.
